Back in the 1900’s there was a machine that was so revolutionary it changed the way we go about our day today. Even though the automobile had been around for years the Ford Model T was the first car ever to be massed produced. It is generally regarded as the first affordable automobile for the masses. Being able to grasp just how important this vehicle was would be nearly impossible. The model T allowed people to commute to farther locations with less effort as it would have taken by either walking or being on horseback. Henry Ford himself stated that “"I will build a car for the great multitude. It will be large enough for the family, but small enough for the individual to run and care for… and you can have it in any color as long as it’s black.” As well as being the first mass produced automobile it was also the first car to be produced in more than one country. The model T was being assembled in Walkersville, Canada and in Trafford Park, Greater Manchester, England starting in 1911. They were then later assembled in Germany, Argentina, France, Spain, Denmark, Norway, Belgium, Brazil, Mexico, and Japan, as well as several locations throughout the US. The Model T is an extremely important car in the advancements of personal transport.

Vlasic, Bill. "100 Years Down the Line." The New York times, Published October 29th 2013,

Similarly today we have many brilliant minds working on Henry’s idea. How can we make them more comfortable, safer, and faster as well as being economical? This is something that hyper car engineers are working hard to fit all of these aspects in. One of the most revolutionary cars of the modern world is the Bugatti Veyron. This car can travel at speeds of over 250mph and amazingly “it only feels like you are doing 70” James May a reporter for Top gear said he “had never driven anything like it”. This car really sparked the whole world’s fastest car competition and is constantly pushing technology forward and pushing the boundaries of what most humans ever thought was possible.

Wardrop, Murray. "New Bugatti Veyron crowned world's fastest road car" The telegraph, published July 7th 2010  http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/news/7876207/New-Bugatti-Veyron-crowned-worlds-fastest-road-car.html

The model T and the Bugatti Veyron may seem worlds apart but in fact they stand for almost the exact same purpose. Both these cars want to make a difference in how people look at cars and what they can do.The model T wanted to create a car for everyone and advance mass production. The Veyron wanted to further technology and push the boundaries of what was believed to be possible. With out the Model T we would more then likely still be making cars by hand and would not be open to the idea of mass production of automobiles. The Veyron is a car that was crucial to the development of going faster and exploring areas of physics that hand not ever been looked at. All in all we would more then likely not be where we are without these two cars.

College application cover letter

To whomever this may concern,

I am extremely interested in the modern day automobile. I passionately strive to fill my mind with the knowledge of cars, where they came from, where they are now and where they're going. Learning about cars is my passion. Starting at a very young age the auto industry has always grabbed my attention. Since then I have been watching documentaries on how high performance cars are made. As well as reading up on the different materials used in the construction of these cars. That all being said, I don’t just like reading about them I also enjoy driving them. Working with a racing team would be my ultimate goal and I am prepared to do what is necessary to reach that goal. Cars are my world and would love to make a living working with them.

Workings hard and persevering are just a few traits that I am very well known for. At work I am a very well know as a very accomplished worker who constantly tries to better himself and the company. Finding new ways of being more efficient is a specialty I have. At school I am working very hard to achieve high grades and so far I am exceeding my goals amazingly. I also play in the grade eleven to twelve senior band. Music is another area of my life that I enjoy very much; the feeling that I get when hearing brilliant orchestral music is almost unmatchable. Being in high school is a hard thing and for most people managing their time effectively is nearly impossible. I on the other hand can manage my time very well; I rarely hand in homework late.

 555 I live with stupid

 Stupid town, B.C.

 V2A Derp

Good Afternoon,

My Name is Brandon Carson and I am working as one of your Student Pro Painters. I enjoy my job very much. Although working here is at this fantastic business I have a few concerns that I would like to address about one of your colleagues Joe Watchingu. I don't think Joe is a bad person. I think that he is just a little oblivious and wouldn't need much to straighten him out. I know how hard it is having somebody that is a part of the family working for you. I get that. You feel as if you have to take care of them and in a figurative sense hold their hand the whole way through. Also you are a very special lady, extremely kind hearted and good willed and having to tell someone that they aren't doing as good of job as they should be is hard for you. Although this all being said I would like to bring up a couple of points with you and see what you think of them.

Firstly I would like to speak about Joe's tardiness he often arrives 30-40 minutes late for work. I as well as numerous other colleagues have approached Joe about this. Although we ask politely he never wants to give us a reason and just tells us "off" using extremely rude language. If it was only once in a blue moon nobody would mind but the fact that it is constant is starting to annoy the rest of the colleagues. Now that being said I do realize he is responsible for his two children and that his wife is no longer in the picture. Still their are plenty of ways to make sure his children are at daycare or wherever they need to be. Joe just so happens to be my neighbor and my girlfriend doesn’t work three days of the week and she has offered up her own time to care of his kids on any of those three occasions. It’s bad enough that he is chronically late for work. But he then leaves early, if he had showed up late but then stayed late it wouldn’t bother anybody. Now on the odd time I admit that I even leave early, everybody does but usually we have started work early. I don’t understand why he believes leaving is an alright thing to do. Now that being said he may need to pick his kids up from daycare or go see his mother in the hospital. Whatever it maybe if he would just let one of the painters know in a polite way we would be more than accommodating.

 I stated very briefly earlier on that Joe is sometimes confrontational with the other colleagues about certain ideas. One thing that I have noticed that makes him extremely angry is constructive criticism;
I have approached him with a new way of doing a certain project and he just lost it. He started breaking things, yelling and screaming, swearing and got aggressive. This rarely happens and he usually is only very stubborn. I would much appreciate if you would discuss this with him. If you would like me to come in and discuss this matter please feel free to let me know and I would be more then happy to speak my side of the story.

As a painter we are working in brand news that are usually just passed the lock up stage that means their is usually lots of flammable materials around such as saw dust and large amounts of wood. How this relates is to Joe is that when he takes his break he often leaves still smoldering cigarette buds on the floor. I am extremely worried that one of these days some saw dust is going to catch fire and burn the house to the ground. I would feel horrible for the owners as well as yourself because you would be the person who would ultimately end up paying for it; you are such a nice lady and I would hate for that to happen. I was thinking that we should have a designated smoking area with a garbage only for buds. Joe also takes extra this doesn’t bother too much although it does bother the other colleagues.

If you could discuss these issues we have with him that would be much appreciated

 Thank you very much,

 Brandon

Narrative Essay

Topic: Certain events change our impression of life
Its the year 2025 and my name as a composer is known world wide for besting Beethoven at his own game. Having music in my life allowed me to open my mind to new things as well as new people. Although, life wasn't always this great. I had to fight and claw to do what I wanted in my life.

It was my first day of Middle School and there were so many choices. Do I choose band or art and drama? My mind was a whirlpool of worries and thoughts, “What will I do? How will I do it? Will I succeed?”  That night I had a dream! A dream where I would one day play my own music in front of thousands of people; contently listening to my every note. That morning as I walked to school and felt the brisk air on my face I knew for certain what I was going to choose.  It would be Band.

In the beginning my parents and I fought desperately as they wanted me to be in drama so that I could become a famous actor. They did this knowing full well that I hated acting. At that moment I knew what I needed to do. I knew what was best for me. When they finally agreed to let me join band I was ecstatic. I could hardly contain myself. To hear these words completely changed the way that I looked upon life. Walking into the band room on the first day felt amazing, the smell of the freshly re skinned drums, my heart was beating in an unbroken tempo. All I could see was a room full of people all with the same goals as I. Countless hours were spent learning music, studying, playing. Music had become my everything, it threatened to consume me. As I strengthened my knowledge in music I forgot about everything else, friends, academics and health it all just didn't seem to matter. How could the one entity I love so much be the one entity that destroys me. Luckily my parents were their for me and caught this before I reached a point on which turning back would be impossible. I stopped studying music as much as before and started building friendships; this was painfully hard for me due to the fact that I had built up about as much social skills as a frilled shark. Getting my health back was no easy matter but in time it came back and I was healthy and happy although I felt like I was missing something. The Hardest thing was getting my academics back up to an acceptable level was excruciatingly difficult; I worked so hard but It just felt hopeless.

Venturing into high school was a frightening time for many people including myself. I was constantly aware of how some people would get picked on to the point of taking their own life. Being the strong willed person I am I told myself that I would not let this happen to I. Of course now being a more well rounded person I had decent grades a few good friends and my health had come back. I was very eager to start getting back into the beautiful world of music. Gaining back my extentious knowledge took a lot of effort and persistence even more than normal because I had to watch my grades. But over the years as I progressed through high school the knowledge I previously had acquired flew back into my mind like the mighty Nile River. After three long, hard but good years I entered my grade twelve year with a feeling of power and excitement. My grades were at an all time high and I was still actively studying music I didn't think life could get any better but I was so wrong. I remember that night like if it had just happened. It was a cold winters night, the grade 12 senior band was coming together for the annual winter concert and I just so happened to have the biggest solo of my life. The room was full of a small but noticeable "humm" I had never noticed it before it seemed as though the people were genuinely excited to hear our music. It was time. We took our seats. "1,2,3,4" the music rushed out of our instruments it was a symphony of sound. The time was coming for me to stand up and take my solo I was so nervous my whole body shaking my palms sweating profusely. Then it was upon me. I don't remember anything except finishing and the crowd going insane. The rest of the concert sounded magnificent but I can still feel inside me today the excitement I felt then. After the concert a man pulled me aside and asked me a few questions about music and some of my plans for my future. He turned out to be a world renowned recruiter for symphonic band players and composers he wanted me to compose for one of his bands. My life was all uphill from their.

Fast forward about to 2020 I'm 25 years old and writing brilliant works of music for some of the most prestigious bands ever. Renowned as one the greatest composers ever I was extremely content with my life. My parents were so wrong about me; amazing that it had all started with that first day in middle school.

Application

Hello,

Look at yourself, now back to me, now back to you, now back to me. Sadly, you aren't me. I once fought a hybrid of Bruce lee and Chuck Norris and won with only my bare hands. I have discovered the cure for cancer but couldn't be bothered to remember it. I'm faster than a speeding bullet; more powerful than a locomotive. Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. You may think I'm superman but NO I am much better. The girl from the ring called and I told her that she only has seven days. I once counted to infinity. Twice. Some say I am Big Jack where others say that I am on a highway to hell. Think of a place you have been. I have been there. Think of a speech. I spoke it. Think of your father. I am your father. I'm a people person.

Atlantis isn't lost it's my summer house. I have never swum; water just wants to be around me. I am religion. Jesus worships me. Parting the red sea was easy. I have touched MC Hammer. Dividing by zero is an easy task for me. Where are we going? Where have we been? What has been seen? It’s all been decided by me. Mr. Bean has only spoken to me. The laws of physics don't apply to me. The rules of the road don't apply to me. All rules don't apply to me. I created Rome in a day. I created the world in seven. A bomb wasn't dropped on Hiroshima I was. I have defeated a brick wall in a game of tennis. Albert Einstein said Before God we are all equally wise - and equally foolish. Even Einstein worships me. I’m so gangster my homies take showers for me. I created continents to keep people I don’t like away. African, Asian, White, Italian these are just a few things that I am. I enjoy a cold soda on a warm day

I’ve been to Olympus, I’ve been to Hell, I’ve been to the four corners of the earth but yet I have not been to a university, although I could be if you would just look at yourself, then back to me.

Waiting In a waiting room

Waiting In a waiting room
I get the phone call that nobody ever wants to get; the doctors said that she had taken a fall. I rushed down to the hospital only to miss her just minutes after she entered the O.R. I was forced to sit alone in the quiet, desolate waiting room. The seats were cold and hard; the material, cracked from years of decay. It was quiet except for the beeping of heart monitors and the constant dripping of IV’s. The smell of bleach and disinfectants stung my nose. Everything almost seemed to become more obvious it was if my senses had heightened. Whenever the clock would tick It sounded like a hammer smashing down on steel. I had now been at the hospital for a total of six hours. I was starting to worry that something had gone wrong. The air in an instance seemed to fill with a cloud of anguish and despair. It felt as though it would consume my very soul. My body was tense, my eyes strained, my mind was frantically trying to convince itself that everything had gone well that there had been no problems. But, I couldn’t do it. My mind was still overwhelmed with despair. The door opened with a swoosh and the man that I had been waiting on for so long entered the waiting room and called my name. I leapt from my seat praying for good news. He looked me dead in the eye and said that he had good news and bad news. Hearing him say there was bad news terrified me. I asked for the good news first. He said that they were able to mend the bone with no problems at all. But while they were in mending the leg bone, they found cancer which is why they took so long. They immediately took her for an MRI. Next, he told me, “I have some terrifying news; she only has one day left.”

Option 1: It is important to keep learning throughout life.
Learning is an amazing thing it is a means of allowing one to evolve and expand your knowledge. No expert knows everything about his chosen career. Discoveries occur daily that lead to a new understanding of how our world works. Whatever your chosen field, if your mind is closed to learning about new breakthroughs, your worth to your company is limited. You need to have an open mind and be willing to absorb new knowledge as it comes along. A willingness to learn also means being willing to throw out those antiquated theories that could keep you from advancing through life. All of the greatest discoveries have been made by people that continued their studies throughout their life. Men like Isaac Newton and Albert Einstein made their greatest discoveries when they were not in school. My father if he had continued his learning would not have had to go back and re learn things that he should have already know.  Would one believe that it is still important to continue learning throughout life? My father also has

Many of the greatest entities that one can learn will not be taught in school but outside of school. Things you learn in school only help prepare you for the much more important things that are to come. Issac Newton stated that "there has never been a higher source of earthly honor or distinction than that connected with advances in science". Sir Isaac Newton is regarded as being one of the most influential scientists ever. Newton was an English physicist and mathematician. In 1679, Newton returned to his work on (celestial) mechanics, gravitation and its effect on the orbits of planets, with reference to Kepler's laws of planetary motion. Newton wanted to be constantly expanding his thinking as well as make more discoveries to further the human race.

Albert Einstein once said if we knew what we were doing, it wouldn't be research, now would it? Albert Einstein was a German-born theoretical physicist who developed the general theory of relativity, one of the two pillars of modern physics quantum. While best known for his mass–energy equivalence formula E = MC2 (which is now known as one of “the world's most famous equation"), he received the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics "for his services to theoretical physics, and especially for his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect". The latter was pivotal in establishing quantum theory. Einstein just like Newton was known to be the greatest mind of his time. Einstein wanted to continue his learning for most of the same reasons that Newton wanted too.

A University education right now is ground into a teenagers head that it is the most important thing you need; if you don’t have it you will not make it anywhere in life. Although this may be partially true once you get your education you must continue expanding your knowledge or you will become boring and won’t enjoy life for what it is. My dad is a prime example of this he didn't got get any sort of post-secondary education and he decide to work extremely hard and never really thought about the future. He slowly began moving up the ranks, learning new and interesting things as he went. Although when he was offered his position that he now currently has he had to go back and take a university course. This was very difficult for him because he had stopped reading, doing math, or even thinking about science. When one stops learning new things that part of their brain shuts down and is very hard to re fire and get it back into high gear. Now the pressure was on if he didn't pass this course he wouldn't get the promotion. One could only imagine how hard it would be to re fire that part of your brain and try to learn all these new concepts which had never been taught to him. Although this being said if he had kept on learning a few little things every day that part of the brain might have not shut down and his courses would have been much easier on him.

Expanding the knowledge of humans throughout life is something that we should strive for its something that we should always want. To keep learning new things in life to keep exploring allows the human race to grow and develop, to try and understand why we are here. Learning throughout life isn't just important for society but it is also very important to the single person. It keeps your mind alert and sharp and will allow you to live a longer happier life.
